Harvey Andrew Swamp, age 92 of Mount Clemens, passed away early Tuesday morning at his home. He was born July 8, 1924 to Andrew and Lucy (King) Swamp in Symour, Wisconsin.
On October 16, 1954 Harvey was united in marriage with Marjorie Thompson at St. Martin Episcopal Church, Detroit.
Harvey retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of duty in the United States Army. He served in World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Swamp worked as a clerk for the Mount Clemens Post Office, retiring in 1987 after 20 years of employment.
Harvey was an active member at Grace Episcopal Church, Mount Clemens and ran the food pantry for the church. He enjoyed bowling and throwing horse shoes.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Marjorie; children, Harvey (Dawn) Swamp, Ronald (Rogene) Swamp and Carol (Sean Sylvester) Swamp-Yennor; granddaughters, Jessica, Jenna and Samantha; great grandsons, Connor, Jaxson and Jasper. Harvey was predeceased by brothers, Howard and Ronald.
Visiting hours are 2 - 9 p.m., Friday January 27, 2017 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.
Funeral 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Susan Bock officiating.
Burial will follow at Clinton Grove Memorial Park.
