BRIGHAM CITY – Donna Ann Buckmiller Lovell, 89, passed away on January 18, 2017 in Brigham City, just a little over two weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Donna was born on February 4, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Jessie Howard and LeRoy John Buckmiller. She attended schools in North Hollywood, California, graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City and attended Brigham Young University.

Donna married her eternal companion, Ferrin A. Lovell on April 2, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to Delta, Utah and raised their family there, moving to Brigham City in 1977 where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Donna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in many callings over her lifetime. She was a visiting teacher all of her adult life, a Cub Scout Leader, a Primary teacher, a Sunday School teacher, a Relief Society teacher, ward Young Women President, a Counselor in her Ward Relief Society Presidency, and later in the Brigham City Stake Relief Society Presidency. She loved serving in her callings and always did a wonderful job.

She was active in community operas and musicals in Delta and was a member of the "Singing Mothers" group. She was also part of the Lady Lions Service Club in Delta. In Brigham City, she belonged to the Ladies Community Club and helped with many service projects there.
Donna was a stay-at-home mom and house-wife and had many hobbies and talents that she sometimes was able to earn extra income with to help the family. She was a talented seamstress and sewed for people for many years. She also made and painted beautiful ceramics and even taught classes for a few years. She loved doing that. She loved cooking, baking and making specialty candies which were loved by many. Donna also enjoyed singing, playing the piano and reading.
The most important things to our very special mother were her family and the Gospel. She loved reading her scriptures every single day. She would tell all of us often that she "loved being a mother". She was always home for us when we got home, ready to listen to us and laugh or cry with us, and usually with warm bread or cinnamon rolls. Raising eight children was not easy and yet she and our dad made us all feel very loved and happy.

Surviving are her children: Connie Moody, American Fork, UT; Peggy Jo Perry, Willard, UT; Barbara Lovell, American Fork, UT; Janet (Harry) Earl, Vancouver, WA; Julie (Jim) Christensen, Vista, CA; Lori (Scott) Hodgson, Perry, UT; Dori Day, Brigham City, UT; Matthew Lovell, Smithfield, UT; 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Also brothers: Jack (Carol) Buckmiller, Salt Lake City, UT; Roger (LaRae) Buckmiller, CA.; sisters: JoAn (Paul) Brooks, St. George, UT; Mary Jones, Cedar Hills, UT; Ruth (Louis) Pope, Highland, UT, currently in Africa.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Howard Buckmiller and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brigham City 8th Ward Chapel, 139 E. 300 No., Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:40 a.m. the day of the funeral at the Church. There will be no viewing the night before.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
