Gregory Randall Pitts, our loving husband, father, and Papaw, unexpectedly passed away January 21, 2017 in Lehi, Utah. Greg was born December 23, 1952 in New Castle, Indiana, to Randall O and Patricia (Bean) Pitts. He was raised in Indiana where he enjoyed raising animals, being outdoors, and participating in 4H. He learned to hunt and fish on his grandparents’ farm.

Greg married Debra Paget on August 11, 1973 in Overland Park, Kansas. They were sealed in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple on October 18, 1974. They moved to Utah in 1975 where they raised their three children. Greg worked hard to support his family as a diesel mechanic and a fleet manager where his employment eventually took him to California and later to Illinois. Greg and Debra moved back to Utah in 2014 to be closer to family.

Greg was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His testimony of the restored gospel was paramount throughout his adult years. He served in various callings in the Church, and enjoyed his time serving in the LDS Chicago Illinois Temple.

His hobbies included painting, fishing, woodworking, and camping. Greg also enjoyed serving in the Boy Scouts of America.

Greg loved spending time with his family and cherished his eight grandchildren. Much of his time over the past three years has been spent focusing on, supporting, teaching, and adoring them. In turn, his grandchildren all loved their Papaw and will truly miss him.

Greg was preceded in death by his father Randall O Pitts. He is survived by his wife, Debra, children, Elisa (Chris) Smith, Ryan (Suzanna) Pitts, and Kara (Micah) Nay, eight grandchildren, his mother, Patricia Pitts, and his siblings, Kathleen Ellis, Timothy Pitts, Jennifer McDaniel, and Marie Sanders.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS meeting house at 9681 North 6900 West, Highland, Utah on Saturday, January 28, 2017
