Rickey J. Abbott, 57, of Ft. Worth, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at his home. Rickey, the son of F. E. “Shorty” Abbott and Billie Joyce South Abbott, was born Aug. 25, 1959, in Ft. Worth.
Following his graduation from L. D. Bell High School in Hurst, Rickey joined the United States Air Force serving as an Airman First Class at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. He loved music and reading.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Jan Abbott and Vicki Atkins both of Euless, one brother, Rodney Lee Abbott & wife Samantha of Van Alstyne, four nephews, two nieces, along with several aunts and uncles.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31st, at Union Cemetery in Taylortown with Rev. Lory Hunt officiating.
