Monica A. "Nin" Abrams

SALAMANCA - Monica "Nin" A. Abrams, 87, of Salamanca, died Thursday night (Jan. 26, 2017) at home surrounded by her family.

Born Nov. 29, 1929, in Bradford, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Nancy DePosito Calcagno. She was married on Nov. 26, 1949, in St. Bernard's Church, Bradford, to Robert E. Abrams, who predeceased her on Oct. 28, 1971.

She had been employed as a bank teller with the Cattaraugus County Bank and the former Salamanca Federal Savings & Loan in Salamanca. She had previously been employed as an accountant at the former Farner & Parker Dairy. She also worked as an election inspector.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the former St. Patrick's Church, Zonta Club, the Senior Center and the Salamanca Historical Society.

Nin loved to laugh and entertain, was an avid euchre card player and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Abrams of Clarence, Gary (Pearl) Abrams of Gainsville, Fla.; three daughters, Patricia (Otto) Tertinek of Olean, Kathryn (Brian) DeBoy of North Ft. Meyers, Fla., Ann Marie (John) LaHue of Coral Springs, Fla.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her very special friend, Donald G. Young of Salamanca; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five brothers; and three sisters.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
