Charles "Charlie" Allen Callaway, 48, of Victoria, passed away Jan. 5, 2008 due to complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He was born Sept. 7, 1959, in Burus, La., to the late Delmar B. and Gloria Ann Callaway.
Charlie graduated from Palacios High School in 1978 and from Corpus Christi Aamp;M with a business administration degree in 1995. He was previously employed as a laundry manager and correctional officer at the TDCJ McConnell Unit in Beeville. He was also a member of Faith Family Church.
Survivors include one niece, Shelby M. Callaway of Houston; cousin, Brenda Pridgen of Cuero; best friend, Billy Dolezal; and family friends, Tommy, Tammy, Kayla and Cole Bertling of Victoria.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sherman Dale Callaway.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will be at 1030 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Palacios City Cemetery.
