Ann (Huzar) Tkacz, age 92 , of Oxford, the beloved wife of the late John Tkacz , entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Shady Knoll Health Care Center of Seymour, with her loving family by her side. She was born in New Haven on April 18, 1924. She was the beloved daughter of the late Konstantyn and Mary (Ivaskewitz) Huzar. She was a devout communicant of St. Peter and St. Paul Church of Ansonia.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, John Tkacz, and her daughter Joanne Tkacz Felix, as well as her sisters Helen Zibluk and Eva Grusz.

Ann grew up on the Huzar Farm in Oxford. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1942 and showing her independent spirit left home and journeyed to Washington, D.C to work as a secretary for the War Department. After returning to CT, she married a local young man, John Tkacz, who had recently returned from military service in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Ann and John went on to raise their family in Seymour and later Oxford, CT.

She will be remembered as a hard working, independent, humble, and dedicated mother who was kind, and selfless in her dedication to her family and especially to her children. We will always miss her vast store of knowledge, her eagerness to engage in sparring political discussions and the delightful Ukrainian food she so famously prepared. Ann will be sadly missed by her family and friends but will remain forever in our hearts.
