"Grant L. Eastman passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Mary's of Michigan. He was 97 years old. Grant L. Eastman was born on January 11, 1914, to the late Benjamin and Katherine (Steinhauser) Eastman in Brighton, Michigan. He married Marie I. Kaindl on May 4, 1935, celebration 57 years together. She preceded him in death on January 20, 1991. Grant then married Cecilia T. (Janson) Eastman. She preceded him in death on July 6, 1996. He was employed by and retired from Leath Furniture as truck driver delivery man. Grant was a longtime member of both First United Methodist Church and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed bowling and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by a great grandson.

Grant's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd. Rev. Kathryn Snedeker will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to First United Methodist Church."
