Mr. Jordan moved to Nashville in 1964 and worked with Jimmy Martin and with Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper before joining Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys in the summer of 1967. He Left the band in early 1969 when he and Roland White both decided, independently to try out for Lester Flatt’s Nashville Grass band. He played with them until 1971, then with Jim and Jesse from 1972 thru 1974. Mr. Jordan worked session musician until the late 80’s. Later on he worked with Wayne Newton in Las Vegas and Branson.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Jordan ; son David Jordan and wife Kaylee of Tullahoma ; grandchildren, Wendy Petty and husband Heath, Stacy Jordan both of Murfreesboro; Kayla McCart, and Kelly Jordan both Tullahoma ; great-grandchildren, Preston and Amelia Petty; sister, Karyn Meeks and husband Wendell of Murfreesboro.
Funeral Mass will be 2PM Wednesday at St. Luke Catholic Church. 10682 Old Nashville Hwy, Smyrna, TN 37167 Visitation will follow.
