Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Raymond Guthrie will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday with the rosary at 8 :45 A.M. at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Gary Rolf and Jay Durbin
She was born October 6, 1917 in Streator the daughter of Henry and Lena (Kunkel) Averweg. She married Andrew “Mitch” Harcharik on June 1, 1938 at St. Anthony Church, Streator He preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Clarence) Creamean of Streator, Linda (the late Francis)Araujo of Streator and Mary Harcharik of Virginia; a son, John Harcharik of Washington; grandchildren, Karyn (Gary)Rolfe, Craig Creamean, Dan (Heather)Creamean, Jill (Bob)Rees, Melissa Araujo Barton (Jay Durbin), Andrea (Justin) Catron- Hoesch and Erica (Mike) Nenejich, great grandchildren Michael McDermaid, Andrew, Mitch,and Leyna Barton, Abbey Creamean, Charlie, Alex and John Creamean, Nicholas Nenejich and great great grandchild Ellie McDermaid.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David Harcharik; sisters, Frances Averweg, Alana Schaibley and Louise Wickkiser and brothers Henry, Anthony and Arthur Averweg.
Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Anthony Grade School and Streator High School. She worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company in the Selecting Department until her retirement.
She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. Regina was an avid hand quilter & provided her family with wonderful heirloom quilts along with beautiful crocheted linens. Her sharp sense of humor will be missed by all.
Memorials may be directed to The Saint Vincent de'Paul Society of St. Michael's Parish or the charity of the donor’s choice.
