Amanda Jane Wren, or 'AJ', 91, died Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Iowa.

AJ was born November 19, 1925 in Adel, Iowa to William Alonzo & Dora Margaret (Hermon) Hulbert. She grew up in Earlham, Iowa and graduated from Desoto High School.

She married James Edward Wren, being an avid homemaker while raising her two sons.

Other interests were sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Des Moines.

Survivors include sons Mike and Ed Wren of Des Moines, Iowa, brothers Richard (Charlene) Wren and Robert (Pat) Wren, sisters Mary Heinen, Anna Greubel, Lucille Wren and Martha Clare, grandchildren Robyn Wren, Sandy Wren, Jenny Wren-Manny, Lonnie Wren, Cody Wren, and Nick Wren, great grandchildren Zek Manny, Jane Manny, Mavis Manny, and Evelyn Baker.

Preceding her in death were her parent, husband, and brother Leo Wren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 4, 2017, 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3300 Easton Blvd., Des Moines, Iowa 50317.

Visitation will be at Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50317, on Friday beginning at 3:00pm, with family greeting friends from 5:00 to 8:00pm.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Iowa following mass.

Memorials: St. Joseph Catholic Church.
