Robert Lee was a son of the late Willie and Willie Mae Powell Blair, husband of Dorothy Williams Blair, father of Barney and Robert, Jr., the brother of Pauline Outlaw. Leaving Kershaw at the age of five, he relocated to High Point. Here he attended Fairview Street Elementary School and WIlliam Penn High School and was a graduate of Barber School in Winston Salem. For many years he was a barber at White Way Barber Shop where he made many friends.
