Jimmie Lee Webb, 79, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away on Sunday evening January 29, 2017 at Medicalodge of Arkansas City.

Jimmie Lee was born on September 21, 1937 in Arkansas City, the son of John W. and Vesta (Baxter) Webb. He attended grade school at Rose Valley and Parker. He graduated from Arkansas City High School in the Class of 1955 and went on to Cowley County Community College to get his associate's degree. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Weddle on June 13, 1959 in Arkansas City. The couple made their home in Maple City, KS for 25 years before moving back to Arkansas City. Jimmie was a farmer and rancher his entire life. He recognized as the State Star Farmer. As a youth he received the Jaycees Outstanding Young Farmer Award. He also served on the Dexter School Board for a time. Jimmie was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Jimmie's hobbies included, farm and livestock auctions, visiting with neighbors, reading farm paper and restoring his 1959 Ford Pickup. He also enjoyed the livestock shows with his children, new wheat varieties, playing cards and dancing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving to honor his memory is his wife: Patricia Ann of the home; his son, Justin and wife Teri Webb of Pomona, KS; his daughter: Jancie and husband Mark Glover of Guymon, OK; his 8 grandchildren; Tanner Webb, Tyler Webb, Cody Webb, Megan Collins, Austin Glover, Shayna Glover, Dustin Glover, Karissa Glover and his great-granddaughter, Sydney Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vesta Webb, his mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Verna Coffey; his granddaughter, Kaila Glover and sister, Carrie Bowman.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 2 at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Burial will follow at Parker Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. that evening. At Jimmie's request for further education for the Glover Grandchildren a college fund has been established. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
