Albert Richard was born in Effingham, Illinois, to the late Wilfred "Dick" and Thelma Wright. On July 2, 1979, Richard married Alura Wilkins in Odessa, Texas. He was employed by United Industries for many years until moving to San Angelo. He was the maintenance man for Cielo Vista Apartments for years and ended his career as a cabinet builder for Jack Cockerell Cabinets.
Richard was passionate in all that he did. The lessons he taught his children were wise and with true compassion and heartfelt love for each and every one of them. Children were drawn to him as though they knew he offered them unlimited warm hugs, soft kisses, and Honey Buns.
His world existed on the five acres he built his life on. He only needed what was right in front of him and anything past the five acres, well, that was just a bonus. He was a man of "If you don't have what you need, use what you have." He was kind, he was gentle, he was simple and content with what life offered him. His love knew no boundaries, his smile knew no end. Richard was a skilled carpenter, garage mechanic, artist, husband, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather and his wife's "best friend."
His faith in God was quiet but strong. Farkel was his game of choice and children were his passion. Alzheimer's took a lot from him but his legacy will continue through all those he came in contact with, his children and all he created on his little five acres. See you on the other side and Happy Trails sweetheart.
Richard was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Wright; and a brother, Jimmy Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Alura Wright, of San Angelo; sons: Richard Wright, of Wichita Falls, Erik Wright, of Rowlett, Texas, Vincent Wright, of Gordon, Texas, Corky Wright, of Carlsbad, Texas, Tony Wilkins and Jacob Wilkins, both of San Angelo, and Zachary Wilkins, of Cedar Creek, Texas; daughters, Beth Wright, of Odessa, and Julie Eblen, of Gordon, Texas; brother, Lee Wright and wife, Pat, of Robstown, Texas.
