Emily was the wife of Peter Steele. They married around 1855. Emily and Peter built the dam on Horsehead Creek, known as Steele's Mill Pond. The mill stones were brought by oxcart from Milton, FL. Emily and Peter had 13 children together. Due to Emily not being listed with her children on the 1885 Florida State Census, I believe that she died before 1885. I would like to hear from other Steele family members who have more information on Peter and Emily
