Mrs Sophie Schweder, 76, of 1012 Evans St., Bethlehem, died Wednesday in her home. She was the wife of John L. Schweder, former Bethlehem fire chief.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John and Sophie (Molnar) Kassie.
She was a member of St John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
Surviving with his husband are a son, John A of Bethlehem, Bethlehem's director of parks and public property; a daughter, Mrs Joseph Faillone of Fountain Hill; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth O'Brien of Reading, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
