Teddy was a street cat, living near a homeless shelter in Wilson, NC, and was approximately 18 months old. The people at the shelter fed him and some were able to pat him as he ate. It was freezing cold in Feb. 2004, when the people at the shelter decided that it would be best if the humane society trapped Teddy and took him in. He was brought to the vet clinic I worked at at the time. He was checked out, tested, neutered and put on antibiotics for a UTI. He was not a happy cat in the clinic, and it was soon known to everyone that worked there, that I was the one he preferred. The vets kept telling me I needed to take him home. Teddy had such a sweet face, that I finally did take him home. When the lady from the humane society came to get him to take him to the shelter, I told her I had taken him home and wanted to adopt him. When she informed the people at the homeless shelter that Teddy had a home, they took up a collection and paid his adoption fee!
