WIFE OF HERBERT RAY THOMAS, SR.

BARBARA JEAN YANCEY THOMAS, 68, retired medical secretary for Midtown Mental Health Center, a church pianist for many churches, and a member of Little John Baptist Church, Woodstock, TN, died January 9, 2007 at Methodist University Hospital. Visitation will be from 7:30-9 p.m. Friday, January 12 at N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 13 at Berean Missionary Baptist Church, 1666 E. Raines Road. Dr. Edward Parker, Jr. will be officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16 in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Thomas, Sr. She leaves two daughters, Jacquelyn Lyons and Tamara Hampton, both of Houston, TX; a son, Herbert Thomas, Jr; mother-in-law, Odessa Neal; stepmother, Johnnie Mae Taylor; and her Godmother, Etta Ezell, all of Memphis; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends will miss her dearly.
