Harold Ralph Williams, 96, formerly of Humboldt, Kansas, died Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Baldwin City, Kansas.

He was born Aug. 30, 1910, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, the son of Wilson and Minnie (Ryan) Williams.

He attended schools in Mammoth Springs, AR, and in Humboldt, KS.

On Dec. 25, 1934, he was married to Vesta Isaac, of Moran, KS, at the Bethel Temple in Chicago, Illinois. She died July 22, 2006.

Williams served in the United States Army during World War II in New Guinea and the Philippines.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pacific Lodge No. 29 A.F. & A.M., Order of the Eastern Star Humboldt Chapter 170, American Legion, Humboldt Golf Club, Rotary Club, and Humboldt Historical Society Museum.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Mayfield and Frankie Snyder, both of Lawrence, KS; a son, Roger, Shawnee, KS; a sister, Helyn Kramer, Glenview, IL; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Carl, Paul, Joe and Otho, died earlier.

Graveside services will be November 22, 2006 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas.
