Don had completed his ROTC training at the University of Idaho, and on their wedding night left for Georgia where he was to report for duty. Following his discharge in 1955, they moved to the Becker Farm near Genesee where they lived, loved and worked all of their lives. Don and Evelyn were very active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society, was involved in Marriage Encounters and Search Program and she taught CCD for many years. She was a Mary Kay Cosmetics representative for more than 30 years, enjoyed gardening, genealogy and in later years, traveling. She was a cancer survivor since 1988.

In addition to Don, her husband of 46 years, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, John, in 1974; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lee and Tom Nash.
