Avery Leroy Ashe, 90, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2017.
Born in Cullowhee, NC, he was the son of the late Alvin J. and Ella Potts Ashe. Leroy was a lifetime member of Cooper Lodge #282, A.F.M. in Travelers Rest and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pickens, SC.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Lila Barker Ashe; daughters: Patricia (John) Brown of Tuckeseegee, NC and Betty (Jim) McClure of Sylva, NC; sons: Avery (Cathy) Ashe of Sylva, NC and Keith (Doris) Ashe of Cullowhee, NC; stepdaughter: Audrey (Rick) Ballenger of Travelers Rest, SC; stepsons: Roger (Stella) Randolph of Clayton, NC and W. Keith (Loretta) Randolph of Dacusville, SC; sisters: Murriel Shelton of Summerville, SC and Billie Lominac of Tuckeseegee, NC; brother: Alvin (Bea) Ashe of Gulfport, MS; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Leroy was predeceased by sisters: Mildred Morgan and Betty Jean Ashe.
