Everett Eugene “Rusty” Powell, Jr., 56, of Westville, passed away peacefully at home February 7, 2017.
Everett was born the son of Everett E. and Sally (Englert) Powell, Sr. in Danville. Everett was previously married to Treasy (Bill Ice) Schlunaker.
Surviving are two sisters, Tamara (Frank) Dudley of Georgetown and JoBeth (Greg) Smith of Stanford, IL, four daughters, Deonne Nicole “Niki” Sowers, Lori Dawn (Steven) Gnaden, both of Westville, Crissy Thomas (Mike King) of Urbana and Jessica Lynn Powell of Danville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jody Lynn Powell, a brother, Randall Scott Powell and two grandchildren, Angel Murdock and Kolton Gnaden.
He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Makayla Peplow, Kendra Pasley, Gabriella Sowers, Trenton Gnaden, Chloey Gnaden, Jhacoby Shade, Julius Thomas, Tyler Stiverson, Spencer Henderson, Cody Thomas, Destinie Thomas and a great-grandchild, Emma Stiverson.
Rusty was a lifetime roofer until cancer took and changed his life forever. He was a very loving and caring man with a great sense of humor, who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
