Abbie Faye LeJeune, 80, of Lake Charles, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Landmark of Lake Charles.



Abbie was a native of Westlake and longtime resident of Lake Charles. She retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board, having prepared countless meals for students over her tenure at T.S. Cooley. She was also a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Abbie enjoyed her trips to the country, spending time camping, traveling, baking, and later in life enjoyed tailgating and football. Above all, she cherished the times she spent with her great grandchildren, and they always put a sparkle in her eyes.



She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, John LeJeune; her parents, Lindsey and Edith Thibodeaux Reed and six siblings. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory her four children, Peggy Martin and husband Richard; Linda Armentor and husband Roy; Johnny LeJeune and wife Barbie and Richard LeJeune and wife Carolyn. Abbie was blessed with her grandchildren, Ryan Young and wife Carissa; Allison Corbello and fiance Quentin Sanchez, Jessica Jolie and husband Trevor; Kayla LeJeune, and Sierra LeJeune; and step grandchildren, Brock Bradley, Boyd Bradley, James Martin and wife Marecho, and Jared Martin; and great grandchildren, Corbin Young, Ethan and Owen Corbello; Avery and Jack Jolie and Jasmine Martin and Axel McDonald; brother, Ed Reed and wife Brenda; sisters-in-law, Hilda Leger and Kay Reed as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.



Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 10:00 AM on Thursday February 9, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. A private burial will follow at Lacassine Cemetery.



The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of Landmark of Lake Charles for the wonderful and loving care extended to our beloved mother and grandmother, and to us, in this difficult time. Also, to the professional and compassionate care extended to us by Joyce Fischer of Brighton Bridge Hospice.
