Viola Mae was born in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to the late James Marvin Piland and Mollie Jane Cooksey Piland. On November 13, 1946, she married Marvin Robert Young. They enjoyed making a garden, and they raised chickens, goats, and cows. They were hard workers together. He was a great welder and made his own tools. They never had children of their own but were loved very much by all their many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Marvin Robert Young; and nine siblings.
Survivors include her sister, Delois Wilson, of Bonham, Texas; brothers, Johnny Piland, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Piland, of Watauga, Texas; brother-in-law, J.D. Young, of Bazette, Texas; sister-in-law, Earline Reagan, of Corsicana, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. K5
