LOU ELLA (GREER) WILLIS, 85 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. Born January 28, 1932, in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pauline (Miller) Greer. She was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and was of the Christian faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a retired employee of the United Postal Service. She also was a cook and janitor at Harman Elementary School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harold Willis; her brother, Joe Greer and sister, De Bonner.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Mrs. Bea Uvacek, College Station, TX; 3-Sons: Mike (Rita) Willis, Lakeland, FL, Bob Willis, Montclair, VA, Ronnie Willis, Vansant, VA; 4-Grandchildren: Matt (Grace) Willis, Mrs. Tracey Reniker, Jesse (Breana) Willis and David Willis; and 5-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for LOU ELLA (GREER) WILLIS will be conducted Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating. Those requested are Willis Bartley, Terry Hall, Danny McCoy, Earl Dean Yates, Aven (Tootie) Viers and Danny Hurley. Burial will follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
