PFC James Lee Elliott, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Fayetteville, NC.

Private First Class James Lee Elliott was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, PFC Elliott served our country until February 16th, 1967 in Quang Ngai, South Vietnam. He was 22 years old and was married. James died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. PFC Elliott is on panel 15E, line 041 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

Tribute to a Fellow Soldier: James, we knew each other because you used to come to New Jersey to visit family and friends. Your older brother and my older cousin were good friends. He was the husband of Mrs Rosetta Elliott, Route #1, Box 468, Son of Mr Robert Elliott and Mrs Castella R. Elliott, Fayetteville, NC.

He served with Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device for Valor. The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
