Dora R. Mitzel, 83, of St. Anne's Retirement Community, passed away August 3, 2014. Born in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia, Dora was the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Anna C. (Forsythe) Wise. She was the wife of the late Clayton D. Mitzel who died in 1988.

A homemaker, Dora was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lancaster, and also the St. Anthony Senior Group. She was a former long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dallastown, PA, and a member of the Pace Setter Club.

Dora enjoyed singing and yodeling, composing poetry, and spending time with her family.

Dora is survived by her children, Jane A. Leiphart, companion of John Mastromatteo, Lancaster, Rita H. D'Ottavio, York, Fr. Daniel C. Mitzel, York, and Deanna J. Sweitzer, wife of Gerald, Red Lion. She was affectionately known as Grammy, Granny, Grandma, Great Granny, Great-Dora, and Gaga by her grandchildren, Chad and John D'Ottavio, Larry Leiphart, Amy Coddington, Lisa Sirico, and Tori Byers, and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Jacob, Clayton, Savannah, Vincent, Jackson, Josie, Lincoln, and Christopher. She is also survived by brothers, James and Paul Wise. In addition to her parents and husband, Dora was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Quentin, sisters, Joan Plummer and Mary Keith, and son-in-law, John D'Ottavio.
