Sherry Gwen Abney, age 65, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, October 03, 2015 at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Sherry was born November 29, 1949 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and lived as a young child around Stratford, Oklahoma. In 1959, her family moved to Texarkana, here she received her education and became a registered nurse; working and excelling at Wadley Regional Medical Center for twenty seven years. Later, she worked for Christus St. Michael Health Care as a JCAHO coordinator/safety officer. Sherry enjoyed Native American History, reading and crafts. She was a Christian, believing in our Lord Jesus.

She was a loving daughter, devoted sister, and a giving friend to all. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alva Wanetta Spigner and her brother, Ricky Abney.
