Month’s Illness Fatal To Mrs. Mary Carlton
Mrs. Mary Breen Carlton, wife of John J. Carlton of 2005 Terrace Place, died at St. Thomas Hospital yesterday morning at 4:45 o’clock. She had been ill for about a month. The body is at the home. The funeral cortege will leave the home Monday morning at 8:45 o’clock. Requiem high mass will be sung at 9 o’clock at the Cathedral of the Incarnation and burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The daughter of the late P. J. and Ann McGovern Breen, Mrs. Carlton was born in Nashville and educated in the Catholic schools here. In 1924, she was married to Mr. Carlton. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Incarnation. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three brothers, P. J. Breen and Paul Breen of Nashville, and John F. Breen of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters Miss Josie Breen of Nashville and Mrs. William E. Walsh of Memphis, and an uncle, Philip McGovern of Nashville. Martin’s, 2021 West End Avenue, 6-2637.
