Franklin provided brief summaries the first six generations of John Fairfield and his some of his descendants, beginning with 1) John Fairfield and down through his son 2) Walter Fairfield, and on to Walter's son 3) William Fairfield, then William's son 4) Skipper Fairfield, and to Skipper's son 5) William Fairfield, and to William's son 6) David Fairfield, born in Woodstock, CT.
Franklin's treatise goes into more detail about subsequent generations of John Fairfield descendants in his line, through David Fairfield's son 7) Jason Williams Fairfield, also of Woodstock, CT.
The work comes to a close after the tenth generation of Fairfield descendants of the above lineage, which correlates to descendants born in the late 1800s.
The unpublished manuscript was widely distributed in the Corbin and Fairfield families during the 1950s, and Franklin continued to work on it until his death in 1958. His monumental research is greatly appreciated by all who have benefited from his labors.
