Madeline married Charles J Keadle from Warford, WV, along New River, on November 12, 1938 in Tazewell, VA. They settled in Dunbar, WV in the Kanawha Valley. When Charles enlisted in the Navy during World War II, they moved to CA. She worked for a telephone company in San Francisco while he served two years in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge from Camp Shoemaker, they returned to the Kanawha Valley and made their home in St. Albans. She worked as a clerk for The Diamond Department Store in Charleston while Charles was a bookkeeper for FMC Corp. After his retirement, they moved to Forest Hill, WV in the mid 1980's. While her health permitted, she was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church where she sang alto in the church choir and was a member of the women's Sunday School class. She was the oldest member of the church. She was an avid quilter, using a hoop for her creations, and sold many of them. She enjoyed making crafts and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She and Charles were also caregivers for their great-great niece and nephew, Paige Allison Hill and Kevin Allison. She moved to Country View Assisted Living, Peterstown, WV in 2008 after Charles' death in 2004. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Thelma Neighbors, Florence Jones, Sadie Smith Lykins, Robert Clark, Ernest Clark, Oliver Clark and Arnold Clark.
