From The Robesonian, Lumberton, N. C., Mon., 4 Nov. 1940 - Mrs. R. E. Steele Dies At Fayetteville - Mrs. R. E. Steele died this morning in a Fayetteville hospital after a critical illness since Thursday. She was the widow of the late Dr. Steele, former pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Lumberton, who died here in 1912 after about two years' pastorate.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon about 2 o'clock at Fayetteville with burial to follow at 3:30 o'clock in Meadowbrook cemetery here. A brief service will be held at the graveside.
Three daughters and one son survive: Miss Louise Steele and Mrs. Dorothy R. Ashley of Fayetteville, Mrs. Margie L. Barlow of Charleston, S. C., Robert E. Steele Jr. of Richmond, Va.
