Obituaries

William Argall

Funeral services for William Frederick Argall, aged 79, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Grass Valley.
The Rev. Earl Langguth, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Grass Valley, will officiate.
Mr, Argall died Friday at his home in Sacramento since 1971.
A native of Grass Valley, Mr. Argall was educated in schoolds in Grass Valley and graduated from the University of the Pacific.
He went to work for the Union in Grass Valley as a printer in 1926 and later moved to Auburn where he was employed with the Auburn Journal from 1932 to 1952 as a linotype operator.
Prior to his retirement in 1966, Mr. Argall was employed with Great Western Litho in Auburn.
He was a member of Madison Lodge 23 of Grass Valley, Royal Arch Masons, Ben Ali Shrine and the Gold Unit Shrine Group.
Mr. Argall was also a member of Native Sons of the Golden West and was for a number of years a member of the Grass ValleyVolunteeer Fire Department.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Central Valley Typographic Union, Local 0046 of Sacramento.
Mr. Argall is survived by his wife Alice of Sacramento; two sons, William F. of San Francisco, and Bod Argall of Ontario, Canada; three granddaughters and two grandsons.
He is also survived by his sister, Reba Moran of Sacramento, and a sister-in-law, Ida Argall of Sacramento.
Interment will be at the new Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley.
Contributions to the Easter Seals or the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in San Francisco are preferred and may be left with mortuary personnel.
Arrangements are being handled by Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Grass Valley.
