After moving to Oshkosh, She worked as a beautician at Audrey's Beauty Shop. She was employed for 21 years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute before retiring.
She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. Donna loved to travel, go camping, gardening and volunteered at such places as The Grand Opera House, Friends of Park View, Winnebago County Senior Friends and Winnebago County Mental Health Institute. She really enjoyed playing cards and having cookouts with family and friends.
If you had the privilege of knowing Donna, you surly know what a kind, caring and giving person she was.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Jim) Onken, Pam (Frank) Berger both of Oshkosh, Janice (Chuck) Kleinschmidt of Crown Pointe Indiana, Jean Henschel of Appleton, sons; Jim Henschel and Bill (Debbie) Henschel both of Oshkosh; sister, Joyce (Don) Andersen of Red Wing, MN; sister-in-law, Sue (George) O'Neil of Red Wing, MN; brother-in-law, Edward (Barb) Babel of Mankato, MN; six grandchildren, Andrew (Bobbi) Kleinschmidt, Rebecca (Jon) Daily, Samantha Berger, Amanda, Gary, Nicole and Maria Henschel; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are good friends Rita and Jan and special friend Bob Hatch.
Donna was preceded in death by both husbands, parents, sister-in-law, Carol Noebel and very close friend, Laura Schermetzler.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 5:30 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) with the Rev. Joel Olsen and Vicar Brian Cain officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:30 PM to the time of service. Interment will be in Burnside Cemetery, Red Wing, MN on Friday at Noon.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
