Aubrey Courtney, 87, of Warren, died March 27, 2003, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home at Warren.

Born February 19, 1916, at Vick (Bradley County), he was a son of the late Odis Courtney and Florance Bryant Courtney.

He was a charter member of the Lighthouse Church.

He was a retired farmer, millwright and carpenter.

He was president and founder of Ebenezer Hunting Club and active in a number of Bradley County community boards.

In 1970, he and his wife were named the Bradley County Farm Family of the year.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jan Morris Courtney; six brothers, Earl Courtney, Stevie Courtney, Covern Courtney, Fay Courtney, Norwood Courtney and Glen Courtney; two sisters, Mabrey Christmas and Nezzie Godfrey; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Mae Courtney, whom he married May 2, 1939; one daughter, Janice Marie Peek of Warren; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lighthouse Church by Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Warren.
