Harry (Thomas Henry) Vaughan
Thomas Henry Vaughan was born on 29 September 1878 at Washburn, Marshall County, Illinois.
The first born of Charles Ervin and Lilly May (Becker) Vaughan's 6 children.
He married Bertha V. Sheppard in Guide Rock on 10 October 1904. She was a native of Guide Rock. As a young man he owned a music store and taught piano lessons. In 1905 an attack resembling rheumatic fever left him permanently bent over. Then he was editor of the weekly Guide Rock Signal for 35 years. In the Signal he wrote a philosophical column entitled "The Old Man Sez". He retired from that in 1935 and was Postmaster for 15 years. Harry Vaughan died on 31 December 1952. He was survived by two living children. Cleora Sheppard (Vaughan) Hayes and Allen (Bill) Vaughan, amd 4 grandchildren.
