Archie M. Vann, well known painter and contractor of this city, died at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon after an illness of only one hour. Mr. Vann was taken ill and a physician was summoned and medical aid given.

Mr. Vann has lived in Macon all of his life having been born and reared here. He was 51 years of age and born April 18, 1877. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Hobbs Vann; four sons, E. L. Vann of Macon; A. T. Vann, of New London, Conn.; W. W. Bilow, of Washington, D. C., and C. E. Bilow, of Crawford county; one brother, J. A. Vann of Jacksonville, Fla. and a sister, Mrs. Will Muecke, of Macon.

The family resided at 1322 Broadway, and his parents are the late Reese Vann and Sarah Bodwell Vann, of Baldwin county.

Funeral services will be held at Hart's Chapel this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. Rev. R. T. Russell, pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in Fort Hill cemetery.
