Jeddy William Clawson

Jeddy William Clawson passed from his mortal life on February 14, 2017 surrounded by his family in Provo, Utah. He was born November 24, 1944 to George Christiansen and Ethel Viola Clawson in Pocatello, Idaho.

Jed was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings. He especially loved serving as a home teacher, high counselor, temple ordinance worker in the Draper, Jordan River, and St. George, Utah temples, and a member of his ward’s bishopric in Chandler, Arizona. Jed served a full-time mission to the Navajo Indian Reservation in the Four Corners area and later as a stake missionary on the Fort Hall Reservation. He had an immense love for his Navajo brothers and sisters, and spoke fondly of them his entire life. Jed loved meeting new people and finding things they had in common. He made a friend in everyone he met.

Jed married the love of his life, Sharon Renae Anderson, daughter of Richard LaVar and Mildred Greenwood Anderson of Bellevue, Washington on November 3, 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a life of more than 43 years.

Jed loved to serve people and volunteered in many capacities including his work as an EMT, Deputy Sheriff, police officer, and elected County Coroner. He also built a career of more than 40 years in the title insurance and real estate industries working in Idaho, Washington, and Arizona. It is there he retired from LandAmerica Title Company as a National Senior Title Underwriter and is still called “the gold standard of the industry.”

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sharon, his 7 children, William Clay (Jeralyn), Douglas Rocky (Julie), Michael George (Kimberly), Sara Ann (Nathan), Spencer Jay (Kelli), Sean Andrew (Jordan), and Scott Christiansen (Elizabeth), as well as 29 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind brothers John Alma (Annette) Clawson, Gary Dean (Joan) Clawson, sister Julienne Clawson Johnson (Charles), sisterin-law Joan Brower Clawson Baum and many, many nephews and nieces whom he considered brothers and sisters.

Jed is now reunited with his parents, his older sister Cleta Jeanene Clawson who passed at 9 months of age, and his older brother James George Clawson who all passed before him.

A viewing will be held both Friday, February 24th from 6-8 pm and Saturday the 25th from 9:30-10:30 am. The funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. All events will be held at the Traverse Mountain 10th Ward Chapel, 2244 West Ravencrest Lane, in Lehi, Utah. Interment will be at Lehi City Cemetery.
