John Buster Howsen, 94, of Warren, died March 26, 2003, at Beverly Health Center.

He was born June 29, 1908, in the Pleasant Valley community of Bradley County, a son of the late John "Short" Vontee Howsen and Winnie Lou Norman Howsen.

He was a retired glue room foreman for Potlatch Corporation and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Hines Howsen, whom he married December 24, 1928, at Hermitage; and one sister, Dorris Clark.

Survivors include two sons, J. W. "Tootie" Howsen and Larry Edward Howsen, both of Warren; one daughter, Dorothy Sue Jenkins of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren.
