Gregory Lee “Greg” Alls 65 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 15, 2017. He was preceded by his parents, Leonard Waltus and Maude Manarie Alls, 3 brothers, Leonard Woody, Harlan Eugene, and Maynard Rodney Alls, one sister, Joyce Diane Clinevell.

Greg also known to his family and friends as “Big Red” retired from Old Dominion Memorial Gardens as the Grounds Superintendent after many years of service. He also enjoyed playing his guitar with his friends, Buck Goad, and Chuck Boone. All who knew him will dearly miss a very loving husband, stepfather, brother, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Dale Alls; stepdaughter, Kimberly Smith; 3 step grandchildren, Lauren Markham, Elizabeth Smith, and Elijah Smith; sister, Myrtie Brooks Thompson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and special friends, Buck and Jean Good, Barry and Bonnie Beckner, and Buster and Janice Mullins.

The family would like to say thank you to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care Roanoke-Salem for all their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite organization in Greg’s memory.

A memorial service celebrating Greg’s life will be held 3:00pm Sunday February 19, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Gordon officiating. Inurnment will be private. Family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time Sunday at the Funeral Home.
