Born on Dec. 14, 1941, in Rochester, he was the son of Byron and Sarah “Sally” (Chamberlain) Zimmerman. On Sept. 26, 1997, in Rochester, he married Carol Clouse and she survives.
Mr. Zimmerman worked for the Kimble Glass Co. in Warsaw, retiring in 1987. He ran the Dam Landing Bait Shop, Rochester, as well as working part-time with his brother, John, installing and repairing Clean Burn Furnaces. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Rochester VFW. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, trapping, visiting with friends and family, turtling, and drinking coffee with friends at Alejandra’s. He also enjoyed his children and grandchildren, loved going to Lake Manitou and Mount Zion to fish, and was an avid World Poker fan.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Jerry Pitman officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Military services will be conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, Rochester.
