Hazleton Plain Speaker; Saturday, July 8, 1939:
Andrew C. Wagner, 58, of 109 North Vine street, died at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital at 6:55 o'clock this morning. He was rushed to the hospital yesterday morning. Although ailing for several weeks he worked as usual Thursday but was taken seriously ill that night. He was born in Freeland but had spent practically all his life in Hazleton and was employed as a bus driver for the Hazleton Auto Bus Company.

Surviving are his widow, the former Katherine Otter, and four children: Jean and Lois, at home, Mrs. Harold Lonzer and Donald L. Wagner, both of Hazleton. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Alvin J. and Norman Wagner, both of Hazleton; Mrs. Christina Bond, of Berwick; and Mrs. George Bray and Mrs. Della Bellas, both of Allentown. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wagner, his father having died three years ago.

The funeral will be held privately on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services in charge of Rev. F. T. Esterly, D.D., pastor of Christ Lutheran church. Interment will be in the Mountain View cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon or evening.
