Buddy was born Oct 17, 1940 in Palestine, Texas to Leonard Elijah aBuddy was born Oct 17, 1940 in Palestine, Texas to Leonard Elijah and Ruby Vivian(Hudson)Burden.He grew up and attended school in Palestine. After graduating he joined the United States Army on June 17, 1959. He served overseas in the Philippines and Thailand and was honorably discharged on June 7, 1962 as a SP4.

He married Onita Neugebauer on July 25, 1964 in Vernon, Texas. On this day he became step father to Doyle Wendall and Gayle Denise Rains. Buddy and Onita had one daughter, Cynthia Lee Burden.

He worked as an airplane mechanic for Cooper Airmotive, Availl and GE, in Frederick, OK, Mesquite, TX and California.

He loved to garden and photography, especially nature scenes.

He had 7 grandchildren: Tim Franks, Heather Griggs, Rudy Lee Griggs, Samantha Riggs, Stormy Wayne Riggs, Kelly and Stacy Rains. 5 great grandchildren: Emily, Sloane, Alex, Harper and Lydia Lee.
