John "Squire Jack" Adams was born on March 16, 1783 in Chester, South Carolina. He is the son of Robert Warson Adams 1751-1816 and Rebecca Wylie Adams 1758-1817. His siblings are Alexander Adams 1779-1849, Sarah "Sally" Adams 1780-1868, Martha "Mattie" Adams 1786-1813, James Adams, 1789-1856, Jane "Ginney" Adams 1793-1861, and George Washington Adams 1796-1853. He was married two times. His first marriage was to Rhoda Carr 1780-1829, they were married on November 7, 1806 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. They had six sons: Alexander Adams 1807-1892, Greenup "Green" Adams 1810-1886, James Madison "Big Jim" Adams1812-1886, Jackson Adams 1815-1850, William Armstrong "John or Johnny" Adams 1818-1886, and Monroe Adams 1823-. He then had a relationship with Anne Higgins 1796-1835. Their children are Ruth Higgins, Lucinda Higgins, Louvena Higgins, Sciota Higgins, and Lemont Higgins. He then married Mary "Polly" Trowbridge 1809-1907 on May 1st 1831. Their children are Amanda Adams, Josephus Adams, George Marion Adams, and Nancy Jane Adams. He died in August 1860 having lived a long life of 77 years. He is buried someplace in Pulaski County.
