A. Lorraine Gibson, 89, of Weatherby Lake, MO, passed away peacefully February 14, 2017, at The Villages of Jackson Creek Care in Independence, MO.  Visitation will be 10:30AM, with services at 11AM, Saturday February 18, 2017 at Park Lawn Funeral Home.
Lorraine was born July 19, 1927, to James Leslie Anderson and Almeda Abby in Benton county, Missouri.  She graduated from Lincoln High School and later attended The University of Missouri in Columbia.  Lorraine was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone for most of her work life.  She enjoyed several different jobs while working over 30 years for Southwestern Bell. Her final job was Communications Consultant selling PBX equipment.
         Upon retirement, Lorraine enjoyed her homes at Weatherby Lake, Lake of the Ozarks and her winter home in Florida.  Lorraine stayed active with a number of leisure activities including; water skiing, boating, golf, playing bridge and joining in various other activities with neighbors and friends.  She was an active member of Northgate Baptist Church in North Kansas City, MO.  The family remembers many joyous Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at her home in Weatherby Lake. She was famous for her homemade noodles and supply of Russell Stover Chocolates which everyone enjoyed so long as Jerry didn't get there first.
Survivors include her brother, Leroy Anderson, of Lincoln, MO.  She is also survived by her nieces Janice Mitchell of Kansas City, MO and Brenda Anderson of Lincoln, MO; nephews Steven Mitchell and wife Sharon of Texarkana, Texas; David Mitchell and wife Jennifer of Kansas City, MO; Jerry Mitchell and wife Debbie of Oak Grove, MO; Ted Mitchell and wife Allison of Lee's Summit, MO; Earl Anderson of Lincoln, MO; Leslie Anderson of Lincoln, MO, five great nephews, three great nieces, and five great-great nephews and nieces.
         Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Johnny Howe, Roger Six, and Dan Gibson, three sisters, Genieva Anderson, Stella Lucille Anderson, and Virginia Mitchell along with two brothers, Willard Anderson and Gus Anderson.  She was especially close to her sister Virginia and brother Willard.
