Tom was the eldest son of Benjamin Owen Wilson and Ella Elizabeth Knowles Hagerty Wilson. He was born and raised in Lewes.

There he worked for a canning company for six years, and a dredging company for two, prior to becoming employed by the DuPont Company in Seaford, Sussex County for nearly the next forty years.

Tom wed Stella Elizabeth Lewandowski (1916-2012), of Baltimore, MD, in Rehoboth, Sussex County, and the couple had six children: Agnes (a.k.a. Kathleen [that name from, when a nun for several years, she bore the religious name Sister Kathleen Marie]), Franklin, Cynthia, Kathleen (Kathy), Michael, and David. All were raised in Seaford, where Tom, Stella, and their eldest child moved, from Lewes, two years after he was hired by DuPont.

Tom passed away peacefully, in his sleep, in the Laurel Lake, Cumberland County, NJ home of his sister Freda, with whom he resided during his final few years.

NOTE: Many (including some good friends) knew him as Ben, though all family members, and many friends, only ever knew him as Tom.

FYI: Godson Robert J. Cannon, a baby, was, in 1950, the first person interred in this cemetery.
