He was born in Belleville, June 3, 1849, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kurtz. His wife, the former Miss Mary Hemmer, died November 28, 1927.
He is survived by the following children:

He leaves two sisters:
Mrs. Elizabeth Boul, Belleville
Mrs. Charles Bertorelli, Memphis, Tenn.
... 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 9:45 o'clock Wednesday mo9rning from the home to St. Peter's Cathedral where the services will start at 10 o'clock. Interment will take place in Green Mount Cemetery. The body was removed from the Bux Undertaking Company's chapel to the Kurtz home at 10 o'clock this morning.
