CYNTHIA EMILY WITHERS, age 70 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at her home. Cynthia was born November 25, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant to Howard and Emily (Murray) Guthrie.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 1964. She was a switchboard operator for 28 years for Pleasant Telephone Answering Service.

She married Bernard Walter Withers on August 20, 1994. He preceded her in death. Cynthia was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Women of the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, painting, collecting owl figurines, and attending plays. She had an appreciation for theater, and loved the color purple.

Cynthia is survived by her children Dustin (Jeanette) Davis of Grand Rapids, Dawn Davis of Mt. Pleasant, and Sue (Michael) Scott of Oxford; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and her dog Francis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernie, and daughter Lori (Lloyd) Burpee.

Funeral Services will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Casey Fulton officiating. Interment will take place in Crystal Cemetery in Crystal, Michigan.
