96, of Felch, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. He was born on July 5, 1917 in Daggett, MI , son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Srnka) Steinbrecher . He graduated from West High School in Green Bay, WI and has been a resident of this area for most of his life. Robert served in the United States Army during WWII from 1941 to 1943. He married Dorthy L. Beyers in 1962. Robert began his working career making grave blankets for the Catholic Diocese of Chicago. He spent the majority of his life farming and worked as a dairy farmer and potato farmer. Robert was awarded farmer of the year in 1970.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2007; two sons, Robert in 1963 and Kenneth in 1964; three brothers, Eugene, Fabian and Wilbur Steinbrecher; five sisters, Ruth Steinbrecher, Olive Capparet, Grace Nolan, Lucille White and Anita LaCombe.
Robert is survived by his niece, Barbara Steinbrecher of Felch; Nephews, Fabian Norman Steinbrecher of York, Pennsylvania and Rodney LaCombe of Crivitz. Also by many other nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 16th from 9:00 am to 11:00am at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in the Channing Cemetery.
