U.S. Veteran Jerry Wayne Alsip was born on February 27, 1949 in Laurel County, Kentucky, the son of the late Lumer and Dora Anders Alsip.

He was united in marriage to Linda Daugherty who survives. He is also survived by two children, Jeffrey Wayne Alsip and Shonda Alsip Jones both of Florence, Kentucky, two step-children, Alshia Rogers of Somerset and Chad Rogers of London, four sisters, Jurline Melton, Gladys Moore and Eva Hendricks of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lucille Holland of Harlan, Kentucky, four brothers, Raymond and Arthur Alsip of Cincinnati, Ed Alsip of London and Orley Alsip of Mason, Ohio, four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one step grandchild, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by four siblings, Ruby Reynolds, Francis Maggard, Hazel and William Alsip.

He was a retired foundry worker, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Poynters Chapel Christian Church.

Jerry departed this life on Monday, February 20, 2017 being 67 years, 11 months and 23 days of age. Service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Poynters Chapel Christian Church with Joey McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Poynters Chapel Cemetery.
